The purpose of this case study is to map my dental career and how Tempdent dental agency has supported me throughout. I was 18 years old when I stumbled across dentistry by chance. I had decided to take a break from studying and found a part time job in a nearby dental surgery. After my work place initial training I discovered I really enjoyed dentistry and decided I would make it a permanent career choice. I thrived to know more information regarding dentistry and thought my best option would be to looking in to gaining a qualification in nursing of some sort. I researched all the available training centres and options and heard excellent reviews about a training centre called Tempdent. I contacted Tempdent and spoke to Lorraine Nadel to obtain some information regarding gaining a qualification. Lorraine was extremely helpful and gave a number of options on how to proceed and informed me that tempdent also provide government funded course. I booked an appointment and visit the training centre for initial interviews and after an entry and knowledge exam I was successfully accepted to the Oral Health level 3 NVQ. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and felt completely supported throughout. I had a fantastic class tutor in Julie Orr who was always on hand to support and guide me when ever I need help or advice. I also had the support of a work place assessor who was just as valuable to me as Julie. I successfully completed my qualification in May 2004 and was now a registered and qualified dental nurse. I still had regular contact with tempdent as they also run a very reliable temping agency as well as a training centre, which my practice would call upon regularly, use the service. I was unaware that tempdent didn't only provide nursing qualifications; they also ran a number of other courses that could be beneficial to my working career. I decided to enrol on a Customer Service Level 2 NVQ Apprenticeship Qualification. Again I had fantastic experience training for this qualification. My class tutor Kat Michaels was excellent, not only was she helpful and supportive but she also made my training relevant to dentistry which improved my learning overall. I also had a supportive workplace assessor in Jane who made the training stress free. I successfully gained my qualification in May 2010and was now implementing my training into my work place environment. Almost 8 years after beginning my initial training with tempdent, I turned to them for a new direction. I had progressed as far as I could in dental nursing and felt it was time for a change. I contacted tempdent to find out whether there where any possible qualifications that would be beneficial to me and again Lorraine was there to help me. I have recently enrolled in the A1 Assessor qualification and am currently training hard to complete it. Tempdent has been with me every step of the way throughout my career and would highly recommend anyone to take full advantage of the excellent service they provide. Latest NewsView all... |
