Diploma in Dental Nursing Advanced Apprenticeship for 16-18 year olds only

Course Overview :

 

  • This 12-18 month course is comprised of a written examination (VRQ),a level 3 NVQ portfolio , Communication keyskill level 2 and Application of number keyskill level 2.
  • If you have previously achieved English or Maths GCSEs/ A levels in the last 5 years you may be exempt from taking the keyskills qualifications.
  • The awarding body for the Diploma in Dental Nursing Advanced Apprenticeship is City & Guilds. Tempdent is an accredited City & Guilds training centre.
  • There is government funding available for learners doing the Diploma in Dental Nursing Advanced Apprenticeship. Please see below for further details.
  • Choice of evening, weekend and daytime classes in our modern & comfortable Training Centres.
  • Each learner is assigned a workplace NVQ assessor who will visit you on a monthly basis at your dental practice to assist you in achieving your NVQ & keyskills portfolios.

 

The Dental Nursing NVQ syllabus covers the following topics;

  • Health & Safety
  • Emergency First Aid skills
  • Prepare environment, instruments & equipment for dental procedures
  • Oral Health Instruction
  • Dental Radiography
  • Provide support during checkups & treatment planning & dental treatment
  • Cross infection control
  • Reflective practice
