About the Role

Something happens when patients walk through the door at Carew Dental. They relax. They feel looked after before anyone has even said a word about their teeth. That feeling does not happen by accident, and it does not come from the dentistry alone. It comes from the person they meet first.

That person is who we are looking for.

Carew Dental is a fully private practice near Newcastle. Our patients travel from London and across the UK because they trust us to get it right. The standard here is high, the team is close-knit, and the atmosphere is genuinely warm. We are a practice that people feel proud to be part of, and our patients feel it too.

We are recruiting a Dental Receptionist Apprentice to join us with an immediate start, ahead of beginning the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship in July 2026, delivered in partnership with Tempdent. The programme runs for 12 months, combining 24-34 hours per week working in practice with 6 hours of structured study delivered online. You will qualify with a nationally recognised qualification and the kind of real experience that only comes from working inside a high-performing practice from day one.

We pay above the standard apprenticeship rate because we are serious about the people who join us, and we want them to be serious about us.

We are looking for someone who is naturally warm with people, pays attention, and takes genuine pride in the detail. Someone who understands that in a practice like ours, the patient experience begins the moment the phone rings. Experience in dentistry is not required. A standard is.

In practice, you will be managing appointment diaries, welcoming patients, handling enquiries by phone and in person, processing payments, and supporting the team with the administrative tasks that keep a busy practice running smoothly. You will be trained thoroughly and supported closely, with genuine opportunities to grow with us.

We are a high-welfare practice. Alongside above-standard pay, we offer 5.6 weeks' holiday, four paid self-care days each year on top of that, and free and discounted dental treatment after your probationary period.

If you recognise yourself in this, we would love to hear from you.

Successful candidates will be required to complete a DBS check prior to commencement.

Shift Pattern

Minimum 30 hours per week (24 hours in practice, 6 hours study). Up to 40 hours per week. Monday to Saturday.
