Understand the pharmacology of commonly used oral sedatives (e.g. diazepam, temazepam).
Identify indications and contraindications for oral sedation.
Describe the legal and ethical considerations of sedation in dental practice, including consent and record keeping.
Understand relevant UK sedation guidelines (IACSD, GDC Standards, SDCEP).

Aims

The aims of this module is give understanding of the drugs used in oral sedation and how the benefit the patient.
This CPD module provides you with 1.5 hours of GDC verifiable CPD.
