The Level 4 Oral Health Practitioner Apprenticeship equips learners with the unique skills to promote and protect the oral and overall health and wellbeing of individuals, groups and communities.
This 14 month, government funded course enables GDC registered professionals to carry out a range of preventative procedures, deliver oral health education and carry out treatments in accordance with community treatment plans. It includes the theories and principles of behaviour change, health inequalities, how to conduct a motivational consultation and specialist units in oral health.
This apprenticeship elevates Dental Nurses and other appropriate dental care professionals to work collaboratively with Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists, working in the patient’s mouth as well as broader health testing within the community.
Suitable candidates are GDC registered and employed as a Dental Nurse or other appropriate dental care professional within a dental practice for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
