Dental Levy Employer of the Year – Bupa
Gemma Huffey, Sarah Lee and Ellie Rouse have shown outstanding support for their apprentices. They’re always available, attend every session, and ensure off-the-job training runs smoothly. Despite managing multiple learners, they do so with empathy and professionalism.
Their commitment creates a well-organised, supportive environment where apprentices feel valued and confident. Bupa Ipswich Road truly deserves this recognition for their dedication to developing future dental professionals.
Dental SME Employer of the Year – Garforth Dental
This dental practice stands out for its commitment to helping learners grow, both professionally and personally. Every apprentice is supported by a dedicated mentor and a team that leads by example. Challenges are met with creative solutions, and learners are encouraged to share ideas that often shape real improvements.
Regular feedback and open conversations create a safe space for learning, building confidence and teamwork. Apprentices are treated as valued members of the team, with continued support even after qualification. Their dedication to developing future dental professionals is truly inspiring.
Trailblazer Award – MyDentist
MyDentist has set a powerful example of how to embed apprenticeships into a large-scale dental organisation. With over 600 apprentices across the UK, they’ve created a clear, structured pathway for career development, from entry-level roles to senior positions.
Their commitment to nurturing talent is evident in the way they support learners at every stage, offering real progression opportunities and celebrating success along the way. MyDentist is not just investing in individuals, they’re shaping the future of the dental workforce.

Dental Learner of the Year (16–24) – Amelia-Jayne Topolewski, The Smile Clinic
This apprentice has shown exceptional drive and resilience. When she joined the caseload three months behind plan, she took initiative, worked closely with her tutor, and caught up within just three weeks.
Her commitment didn’t stop there, she continued with weekly check-ins by choice, showing a genuine passion for learning and personal growth. Her dedication, positive mindset and consistent effort make her a standout learner and a future dental professional to watch.
Dental Learner of the Year (25+) – Olivia Mycroft, MyDentist
From day one of her apprenticeship, Olivia has shown exceptional commitment and enthusiasm. She’s embraced every part of the course with energy and focus, completing tasks promptly and demonstrating a real passion for gaining her Dental Nursing qualification. Her drive to succeed and eagerness to learn make her a true standout.
