This CPD module looks at anxieties centred around the dentist and how to try to overcome these.
This will help you to achieve further understanding of why sedation is offered.
The aim of this module is to improve the knowledge around the anxieties patients face when coming to the dentist and how we can try to improve these before going down the route of sedation. This CPD module provides you with 1.5 hours of GDC verifiable CPD.
This module will help to:
Identify the common causes of dental anxiety across different age groups.
Understand the psychological, behavioral, and physiological aspects of dental fear and anxiety.
Evaluate patients for levels of anxiety using screening tools and patient history.
Implement communication strategies that promote trust and reduce fear in anxious patients.
Explain non-pharmacological techniques (e.g distraction, relaxation, and desensitisation)
