The purpose of this module is to discuss Legionnaire’s disease, the dental team’s responsibilities and the regulations relating to it.
The aim of this module is to provide knowledge on what Legionnaire’s disease is, what causes it and what the risk factors are. Information on related regulations and recommendations, as well as dental unit water line maintenance is also discussed.
This CPD module provides you with 1.5 hours of GDC verifiable CPD.

Identify the risks of legionella in the dental practice
Understand the role the dental team have in maintaining waterlines to limit the risk of contamination
Be able to maintain waterlines within the dental practice
Identify the symptoms and treatment of Legionnaires’ disease
