Rather than covering general principles, this module explores time and action specific or sequential procedures, for example the difference between zoning during general and surgical dental treatments.

The aims of this module are to understand specific methods of infection control before, during and after treatment and be able to identify the difference between surgical and non-surgical working procedures.

• Explain the importance of practice specific protocol for environmental cleaning
• Identify maintenance procedures required in the surgery
• List procedures required for setting up and closing down working areas
• Describe cleaning procedures between patients
