Online CPD

According to the Ionising Radiation Regulations, a quality assurance programme is mandatory for every practice using x-rays on patients. The term means that every radiograph that is produced is guaranteed to be the best possible quality. This module looks closely at how this can be achieved.

The overall aim of this module is to provide an understanding of the importance of quality assurance, what it entails, how to grade radiographs and what faults may present, as well as the equipment checks and tests that should be carried out.

This CPD module provides you with 2 hours GDC verifiable CPD.

This CPD relates to GDC development outcome C.

This module forms part 4 of 4 of your IR(ME)R17 update. All modules must be completed in order to achieve a full IR(ME)R update.

This module will help you to:

• Know the regulations and the need for quality assurance
• Know the basic components that are needed for quality assurance
• Have the ability to carry out the grading of radiographs and reject film analysis audits
• Know where and how to store the information collated in a quality assurance programme
