The aims of this module are to understand the requirements to produce a Grade 1 image and the principles of digital image production.

• Describe how the final black and white image is produced
• Understand how damaged receptors affect the grading of a radiograph
• Be able to describe correct conventional film processing
• Know the principles of digital image production
• Know how to store final images correctly
• Understand the use and limitation of radiography
• Describe how viewing conditions may contribute to their limitations
• Be able to critically assess radiographic quality and identify the normal anatomy and disease on radiographs
• Be able to identify distortion on radiographs
